Duke students that DO apply to law firms get tons of acceptances. It is just that they don't go.

If its not 50%, you will have far greater luck at Duke. 2. USC is a great school, by the way, and you'll get just as good an education there as at Duke probably. 3. You'll also be in LA, which, if you like LA, would mean your three years of law school will be far more enjoyable than at Duke. 4. Plus you won't have to deal with a) breaking up with your girlfriend; b) owing her for moving out to NC w/you; c) being in a long distance relationship; d) rushing into marriage. At least not because of the law school decision. The bottom line I suspect is that your job prospects from Duke are better, but that advantage is dampened comparatively to other non-t14 schools because USC is in LA. Good luck though - I don't know that you can really go wrong if you make a careful considerate decision. |
