Date: May 21st, 2006 11:31 PM Author: glittery church Some are being told to return to Austin for pending honor code violations councils (the method used to expel students here). They will be allowed to argue that they should not be expelled, but there is a pretty heavy presumption against them in cases like this. Others are going to probably be given an F with a disciplinary mark on their record and will be required to retake the class Pass/Fail in the fall.
The students hid notes outside the classroom and used the internet during a closed book test. Some students met with each other during the test. |

Pls note that I'm usually not a stickler for this kind of thing, but by the time you get to law school you should not be cheating on exams.
Exams in law school mean the difference between jobs and clerkships. Maybe I'm a gunner in the making but this kind of thing ought to be taken pretty seriously. |

No way. First of all that process would take a long time (to retrieve prints and see if there are any matches). Crime labs have heavy backlogs and they take a while to conduct these analyses. No way could they have turned them around so quickly. Also, these labs have more important things to do--like solving violent crimes. Second of all, I doubt UT would actually go so far as to try and fingerprint the outline. A far more plausible scenario is that the administration bluffed and told students that they were about to analyze outline for prints. And students under suspicion freaked out and gave names of other suspected communists. Of course this is all complete conjecture on my part. |
