went to a new dentist. old family dentist is dying and his son took over his practice and son kind of sucks.
new dentist told me that several of my bottom rear molars are in early cavity stages, and need to be monitored closely for cavities. he showed me a zoom-in pic and i can even see w my naked eye in the mirror. there are fissures and cracks inside the molars.
he said it's premature to fill them and they should be monitored but im fucked once the cracks develop past the enamel.
the old dentist never said anything about this, period. did they develop in the past 6 months, or is it just not worth mentioning?

Sounds like he's being cautious/conservative but diligent in diagnosis. Or he's trying to secure your trust by delaying low profit fillings and then BAM he's gonna hit you with expensive stuff.
Which it is depends on your answer to this question: Is he Jewish?
