I'm not trying to treat alcohol as though I'm an addict in recovery. I just want to be in the habit of drinking less. Occasionally getting sloppy if the occasion calls for it is how I want to drink going forward. As long as last night was not the start of a bender, I'm fine with it, mentally. |

I'm more bothered with myself for doing some unscheduled cheating on my diet yesterday than I am about breaking sobriety. |

December, February, and March though were brutal drinking months. Although, I did a week off mid-March and I've been NODRINK for the last 4 days. Going to try for a sober April. I need to lose weight and get my brain back.
For me, it's actually easier when the weather is warmer and the sun is out, because I naturally start feeling a lot better and more motivated, and am able to go on long walks outside.
I feel great today, partly because of 4 days nodrink, and also partly because the weather is warming up, the sun is shining, and I've been able to get outdoors.
Spent this weekend doing about 6 loads of laundry and cleaning my apartment. It looks way better, which is also great for state of mind. Still have some more cleaning to do, but most of the clutter is gone.
It's awesome going from complete lack of motivation and feeling depressed and shitty to feeling good and actually wanting to do stuff. Suddenly I have a strong urge to start lifting weights and get back in shape. I look at pics of me from 7-8 years ago and older and I was damn good looking; way better than I realized at the time (I took women's interest for granted). I need to get back to that, even though I'm older now. |
