My father passed away this morning. He was my own personal superhero. He fought off cancer, battles heart disease, kidney and liver failure. He was in hospice care the last two weeks. He wasn’t well enough the last couple years to see any of the MCU in the theatre. But we have watched every single movie together.
Two days ago, at their house, I put Avengers: Endgame on the big screen. He immediately opened his eyes and smiled the entire time. He laughed, and cried. He thanked me for playing it. I will hold onto these memories for the rest of my life.
My father went peacefully, and comfortably, surrounded by family.
