i keep trying to comfort her and tell her she just needs to let things heal and stop dwelling on it. but she can't. she just keeps going and going. sometimes she'll pop into a happy mode, but generally she's just morose.
we went to a large, off-leash dog park yesterday. she was flashing between being happy and being closed off. eventually she said something like "i just know the verbal abuse will continue again". she has been much, much, much worse than me on insults and verbal abuse. for the past few days when she would bring this up i would say "it's not going to happen again" or whatever. yesterday, i responded with something very mild like "you know, you've contributed to this too and we've talked about that".
she blew the fuck up. stormed off into the woods and left me to take care of the dogs by myself. i walked to the entrance and she was there waiting for me. i tried to give her a hug but she brushed me off. started making a bit of a scene in front of everyone, so i got our things and started for the car. the entire time i'm trying to keep my very young and still wild dogs in line, and she is going on and on about my abuse in a not-quite-shouting but elevated volume.
we got to the car and had a very silent ride home. when we got to home (in a city) she opened the door without carrying about the dogs and one of them jumped out and ran off. i said something like "that's really inconsiderate and dangerous" and ran to go catch him before he ran into traffic. of course, she refused to accept any responsibility for that and her position is "i just opened the door! it's not my fault!"
when i woke up this morning there were a bunch of texts about how she wants me out. i agreed and said i'm done with this too. she sent a bunch of catty shit, which prompted me to send this catty and embarrassing (but, i still feel pretty 180) reply. |

it's very hard to draw the line on what degree of shrew hysteria is acceptable. i've come to accept that there will be some level of hysteria no matter what. the difficult part is most women can keep their hysterical urges under wraps for many months until they start becoming more frequent. |
