These people are black holes of undue charity, they will feed on person after person, until utter exhaustion if their targets are so unlucky as to burden themselves with any true feelings of guilt or obligation to this immensely parasitic character. And there are all sorts of mechanisms they develop for training these feelings in you. What I did was physically isolate myself from this person. Then I prepared for them to come after every possible meaningful social support they were aware I could retreat to. (These people do everything they can to make sure you are dependent on them, and almost always this will involve sabotaging your strongest relationships with people, friends, family, anybody they can exercise some influence over by whatever tactics.) I moved back in with family in another state under the pretense that it would be only for a short time. I immediately stopped sending pictures or videos, I quickly reduced the frequency of calls, and I gradually reduced my level of remaining limited contact with her until inevitably she felt forced to find another sucker (as a main guy, I mean - they have absolutely no reservations against cheating). |

If you don't, she's going to do everything in her power to try to get you back - up to possibly even harming herself (you will probably already have experienced countless suicidal gestures intended to manipulate you during the relationship). When her frustration turns into anger, she will certainly go after you personally, professionally, legally, there are *no* boundaries these people respect.
You will feel bad about it. But if you have any good sense left in you, you will know you have to do it. This is the only place I feel like I fucked up. I couldn't lie with a straight face. I did this stupid "irony" shit where I'd just say outright absurd shit any time conversations would become too intimate or probe too closely into what was really happening. It made me feel really bad, and I know I only resorted to this because the part of me that was able to leave wasn't my heart. |

And if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of actually attracting the romantic attention of one of these people, you have to cut shit off *completely*. There is zero hope and zero use for these people, and I know it's going to look like a shame-- but they belong in the garbage.
