in early 2017, after a tumultuous on-and-off period during which we both behaved like lunatics, i blocked his # and set up a gmail filter so all his emails would skip my inbox and go into their own folder. (i'm glad i didn't just set it to delete them bc now i have all this evidence for my protective order.)
there was a stretch of time in 2018 when i gave him a chance to be on good terms w me. i had to cut him off again in december after a few outbursts. the 708 emails in question date from dec 2018 to aug 2021.
the reason i started talking to him again in august was bc i got back on here and he started following me around in threads and emailing me from new email addresses. he was trying to provoke me and i took the bait and responded to one. then we fell into talking again. i guess it felt like everything would be easier if we could be cool again. every day, i encouraged him to find someone else and move on. i reminded him of all the ways i'd been a shitty gf, told him he was still young and attractive and deserved the best. i listed our fundamental incompatibilities and insisted over and over again that we couldn't be together.
ur right that i did tell him about my dating exploits. he knew i kissed one guy and didn't openly flip out. but when i told him i had a date that actually went well and that i "hooked up" w the guy, declining to give more details, he went absolutely insane. he sent me 7 entire screens of unhinged snapchat messages in a row with no response from me. here's a sampling: https://imgur.com/a/uGZMvOE
so ya i mean it was obviously poor judgment to let this person back in my life, but i don't think it was crazy so much as naive. and i hope this demonstrates that for the vast majority of the time since we broke up, i was staying far away. ik i was weak and he broke me down but i didn't actively want this.
