in early 2017, after a tumultuous on-and-off period during which we both behaved like lunatics, i blocked his # and set up a gmail filter so all his emails would skip my inbox and go into their own folder. (i'm glad i didn't just set it to delete them bc now i have all this evidence for my protective order.)
there was a stretch of time in 2018 when i gave him a chance to be on good terms w me. i had to cut him off again in december after a few outbursts. the 708 emails in question date from dec 2018 to aug 2021.
the reason i started talking to him again in august was bc i got back on here and he started following me around in threads and emailing me from new email addresses. he was trying to provoke me and i took the bait and responded to one. then we fell into talking again. i guess it felt like everything would be easier if we could be cool again. every day, i encouraged him to find someone else and move on. i reminded him of all the ways i'd been a shitty gf, told him he was still young and attractive and deserved the best. i listed our fundamental incompatibilities and insisted over and over again that we couldn't be together.
ur right that i did tell him about my dating exploits. he knew i kissed one guy and didn't openly flip out. but when i told him i had a date that actually went well and that i "hooked up" w the guy, declining to give more details, he went absolutely insane. he sent me 7 entire screens of unhinged snapchat messages in a row with no response from me. here's a sampling: https://imgur.com/a/uGZMvOE
so ya i mean it was obviously poor judgment to let this person back in my life, but i don't think it was crazy so much as naive. and i hope this demonstrates that for the vast majority of the time since we broke up, i was staying far away. ik i was weak and he broke me down but i didn't actively want this.

edit for slightly more info: - started dating guy mid 2015 - i was a shitty, jealous, emotionally abusive gf for months. - perhaps in response to my abuse, he started going crazy too. he became very controlling and paranoid and demanding. i could give several examples of this but i really don't want to go into it. he also displayed concerning paranoid behavior unrelated to the relationship. - by late 2016, it was super fucked. on and off, push and pull, lots of crying and yelling and craziness all around. - in early 2017, we cut it off permanently. i blocked his number, but verizon still showed me his phone calls (and his texts when i booted up in power-saving mode), so i know that at this point he started sending dozens to hundreds of unhinged texts per month, calling regularly, and emailing. - in mid or late 2018 i contacted him. i was going to be near where (i thought) he lived and i suggested meeting up. - we were on ok terms for a bit, but he had a few tantrums and i cut him off again in dec 2018. - he sent the 708 emails in https://www.xoxohth.com/thread.php?thread_id=4950349&forum_id=2 between dec 2018 and aug 2021. - in august of this year, we started talking again. a couple weeks ago, i told him i hooked up with a guy and he flipped out (see snapchat messages above). i told him if he ever contacted me again, i would file a restraining order. - now he's following me around on the bort harassing me (and has emailed me a couple times, so even if i can't prove to the judge that he's poasting, i still have proof that he reached out). i'm working on the restraining order paperwork. |
