That is likely why most transmissions happen when the carrier is asymptomatic.
With all this said, transmission is rare. Valtrex did large trials and, if I recall, the control group of one poz and one neg partner averaged something like a 2% transmission per year of raw dogging. So getting the herp from a single encounter with an asymptomatic person is extremely low. |
