Potentially opening a sushi restaurant (CSLG)

Date: March 2nd, 2022 2:23 PM Author: Bearded Sanctuary The guy who comes to my house and makes those amazing sushi dinners might partner with me to open a high end sushi place on Sunset. I would finance the build out and initial start up costs, and he would run the restaurant with his wife. We would be 50/50 partners.
I understand running a restaurant is a HUGE gamble and has a very high failure rate. I also know that there is a good chance this is just throwing money away. However, for a couple hundred grand (which is like 1 week of pay for me), it is a fun project.
I'll post photos and more info as we do the build out. Once we open I will do an XO meet up at my place. Anticipated opening is about 5-6 months. We should sign the lease in a few weeks. Then the build out is about 3 months. Then we need to get all the staff and food ready.
I'm excited to have a fun new project. |

We just had a meeting with him and we worked out pretty much all the material issues. Lease will probably be signed next week and have a start date of July 1. My guess is buildout and permits will be 4 months, so targeting an end of the year opening. I'll post tomorrow with a lot more details and photos of the space. Very excited about doing this project. I know it is a very large risk but it's a very small investment and even if I lost 100-200K it's only like 2 weeks of work for me. So YOLO, brothers.
