imo it's worth a read, and i especially think that after i started my re-read recently

once you get a bit into it, you can quickly recognize redundant parts that you can skip because he's not introducing any new ideas or arguments. it makes it a lot less of a slog

his big ideas are

1. the norman-saxon conflict and the jewish/christian vs. roman/nazism conflict defining the last 2000 years of human history and particularly the post-enlightenment era. essentially, slave morality vs master morality (this is a very simplified version of his overall thesis)

2. "liberal" slave morality and "anti-liberal" master morality being tied to technological vs. biological evolutionary selections and pressures, respectively. a very simplified version of his overall thesis on this is that post-enlightenment "liberalism" is necessarily a dead-end suicide ideology when viewed from the standpoint of biological evolution: we are doomed to our own destruction as a species if liberalism is followed to its natural conclusion. in contrast, master morality is associated with mankind deliberately seizing control of biological evolution, enabling the strongest and the fittest to set the terms of our biological destiny

he's not the first person to make these kinds of arguments, but i found his ideas on them interesting and generally accurate. particularly the recognition that rejecting liberalism is not enough - there are always evolutionary pressures, and if the biologically suicidal liberalist path toward technological singularity is rejected, then other forces will act as evolutionary pressures instead. we as the human race (or factions within the human race) must deliberately seize control of our own biological destiny, or other forces will do it for us

my current thoughts on things are that this guy was more or less right on the money. the human condition is always going to be a struggle for supremacy among different groups who are existentially opposed to each other. the only cr is to play to win and dominate all others for the good of your own kind, at the expense of everyone else

and i'm not necessarily talking about "racial" conflict btw. i'd rather live in a multi-racial society of all 140+ IQ autists than an all-white society. they are much more My Kind than some prole white Q-anon idiot

i feel this same way in lesser and varying degrees to the various other groups of people who i have kinship and commonalities with: men, white people, americans, etc. all i'm saying is that my kinship with high IQ people is the strongest of any of these

once you recognize that the human condition is just an existential struggle of your own kind vs. everyone else, the question of "who is your own kind" becomes paramount
