In case you're wondering, I got about 3/4 of these by jotting down what I could remember when I got to my car. The rest I got from a just-starting postmortem thread on LSD before it crashed.
I have 11 questions from the first section.
I have 22 questions from the second section. It is in the next message.
LOGICAL REASONING SECTION #1
Questions which I remember what # they were…
#1. Main Point: City is proposing a dam but it costs a lot and is a bad idea Answer: Damming the river is a bad idea
#4. Flaw: 75% of dermatologists recommend this cream; Answer: Doesn’t give #s; could be a small sample size (this was the least bad Answer; I wasn’t 100% sure when i chose it)
#5. PR #1: X -> Y or Z; Y is not possible, hence, if X then some type Z Answer: I think it was D; if there is a path it is stone or gravel; it can’t be gravel so the path is stone. something like that.
#17. Inference (Principle) : Very long principle question; if you have 2 processes that are approx. same cost, choose less environmentally damaging one; then there was another long thing… Answer choice mostly dealt with first part of principle Answer: Pretty sure it was C
#21. Inference: garden/living room in winter/summer Answer: no clue; this one killed me
#22. PR #2 (flaw): X -> Z; ~X - ~Z Answer: was the one with girl who was music lover but didn’t take music classes
23. ?
24. Strengthen: There is no evidence of a supernova based on the observations of instruments we use Answer: I think this one was "the instruments have detected further off supernovas in the past"
25. Weaken: Company makes more money when employees can throw parties Answer: I think this one was A; that the companies that throw parties make more money to begin with

It was a justify question, and it said ...sugar/glucose/control group all were shown to not have increased hyperactivity while doing certain tests.
Answer: During the test the children were doing activities that caused them to be more active/excited.

The answer was something along the lines of "this evidence makes the claim that the trade route may have been established before 200 BC plausible" only in an actual, coherent sentence.

Paradox (I think) : Why is it okay to eat the algae from the lake now even though the population of the algae has increased? Answer: Had something to do with the algae dying off lowered the amount of the toxin released into the food being eaten
Paradox: Two studies of erosion near bridge were commissioned. They had differing results but both were right Answer: One studied top-soil erosion; the other studied a different type of erosion
Paradox: Bears that eat a certain type of flower, but when they do so they pull up the bulb, killing the flower. Yet without the bears the flowers wouldn't survive. Answer: If the flowers are undisturbed, then they soak up all the nutrients and no flowers survive.

Argument part: One of the argument part questions was a really philosophical question, where we were asked what role a certain philosophical thing played; something like "certain people don't ever show emotion towards others" or some crap Answer: i think it was C, it involved it being a claim that was not justified. right?
Argument part: What role does "the band does not have any risk" play in the argument? Answer: Don’t remember; i think it was an intermediate conclusion; maybe Answer choice E, which was "it is a premise for the conclusion and is supported by a premise itself" or something
Assumption (2S) : Government can be super great or super bad. but the best bet is for the government to just be mediocre. Answer: it is better for the government to be mediocre than to be anything else (or something like that)
Assumption (2S) : If Jane and Jack are both in this guy's office and the fingerprints an the footprints yada yada yada, I’m sure you remember this one Answer: C, Nobody else was in the office
Assumption (2N) : Bacteria have flagellum that is made up of parts; Bacteria’s ancestors that didn’t have fully functioning flagellum must have not been able to survivie Answer: ??
Flaw: bird typology 1 is no good because it does not account for a certain species difference (that different species cannot interbreed) as in bird typology 2 Answer: had it narrowed down to 2... I think i said it presumes the correctness of the other one?
Flaw: this bird was found that is 20M years before any dinosaur bones which are supposed to be what birds are descended from. hence no birds are descended from dinosaurs Answer: another one I had a tough time after narrowing it down to 2... one was "ignores possibility both could be descended from another creature" (E), I think the other was that it makes too strong a generalization (A). I think I picked A.
Flaw: Teachers are paid less than athletes. So, society values athletics more than education. Answer : Something along the lines of it overlooks the fact that education may get more total money spent towards it.
Flaw: Annoying letter from annoying guy about how traffic accidents in low speed areas will surely increase Answer: ??

I don't think this is right at all...the answer choice said that the trees cause less wind, which protect the bird eggs in the CITIES...it made no mention of the praries...it was a shell answer, I'm 99% sure of it. I can't remember the right answer though. |

I remember TCR had something to do with the fact that the missing assumption was that the flagella didn't serve any other function in aiding the bactium to survive. |

In the set-up it claims an editor can correct ANY punctuation and correct old words if it hampers the reader's ability to read. I did NOT choose B because it implies he can correct the punctuation because it is old, but in the set-up it says he can correct any punctuation.

I remember keeping 2 choices alive and going with something to do with interest rates. I think the stimulus had to do with glboal warming. A response I thought could be right, but wound up dismissing had to do with the crime rate. |

There were also two questions with "Advertisers:" in it.. anyone remember any q's from it?
Another question about being trendy and hats and suits and the principle i picked was if you spend a lot of money on it it should be that you will wear it for a long time...
And a question on anti-environmentalists being renegades... I picked it was flawed because they didnt prove themselves as being badasses...
OOO what about this one-- Jansen being murdered in his office. What logically draws the conclusion that the woman did it and not Henry? I think i put that only the both of them were in the room that day because of a premise stated earlier... but i was debating btwn that and that the fingerprints found were not jansen's...

-9 means you can miss 9 and get a 170
basically, the -px] is a shortcut for saying "90/101 = 170" or whatever.
since there are 100 Qs on this test, some are assuming that you may need to miss less than 10 (i.e. -8, -9) to get a 170. |

Can you get more details on the synthetics one? I vaguely remember it but need more detail. Ah, wait... it was the one that argued that since synthetic toxins are identical to naturally occuring toxins and naturally occuring toxins are much more common than snythetic toxins, the synthetic toxins aren't dangerous. And the answer was that it doesn't take into account how much/often people are exposed to synthetic toxins as opposed to natural toxins. Right? |

The city question: I put that people may have preferred to live in capital cities. The stimulus indicated that the large city, the provincial capital, was selected most often. Does "most often" indicate a majority or a plurality?
The synthetic question: People are exposed more frequently to synthetics.
Having parties at the workplace: I was down to A and C. A showed there was a reversal issue--companies with above average profits for able to allow workplace fun, while C said XYZ had above average profits without having workplace fun. A shows that cause and effect have been reversed, while C shows the supposed effect (above average profits) without the cause.
