Worth it to max out 529 plan with $180k superfunding?

Date: May 10th, 2024 11:01 PM Author: racy milk digit ratio I know it makes sense to max it out with the one time superfund ($90k from me, $90k from wife) but, assuming that isn't touched until college (18 years) and grows at 6%, you're looking at over $500k.
What's the best thing to do with any remaining funds? Assume kid is just going to do 4 year college, so there will probably be a couple hundred thousand left over for each kid. Plan on having two children and are in a financial position to put in the max for each child right away (and are already maxing out other tax advantaged savings options). |
