the rollout of this entire gen has been a disaster, nobody wants tiers of things, it is a console, just make the compromise product and try to price it competitively, all of your money is coming from games if you do it right

then they decided, like hollywood, that only billion dollar games are worth making and need to be a decade in the making, by then your audience has literally aged out of being able to play your horseshit, or else it is an endless franchise that does, inevitably, wear thin

if nintendo weren't run by weird gooks they would try just 10% harder to have a console that can also run some modern style games with a normal controller and just get all the money

Wtf do u mean Japan isn't making games? From Soft is the juggernaut of the industry now. Maybe square enix isn't making enough slop for 12yo's anymore, but that's a cowgod problem iirc. From Software is essentially the TSMC of gaming at this point. They could open 20 more studios and try making all genres--fps, etc. I'd bet my inheritance on a from-soft FPS being better than their loser competition.

Consoles are quite possibly dead. Everyone has a PC these days and their modularity means you can just upgrade the graphics card instead of buying some new shit-system. Nintendo will continue to persevere as a family living-room console with mostly wholesome games that you can play with your kids.

I will continue playing Tarkov and switching between Souls games on my PC. Just started playing Core Keepers which is also 180. The end of "AAA" gaming has been a muffled death-rattle as it's been dead to me for sometime.

This better be a fucking joke. From has made *four* games since 2016, all of them heavily derived from games they made before, with copied animations, assets, etc. That is incredibly low output to call them a "juggernaut."* It's laughable even. Their games are all full of jank and perfoem like ass relative to the middling visuals, indicating a lack of technical talent. They stumbled onto one gameplay formula that was fun, and leveraged that to make the Same Game over and over again, but that doesn't mean they would make a good FPS or racing game, nor are there any signs they could scale up to open a bunch of studios and have them be any good.

*they are better than DEI studios that hired a bunch of nigs and fags and trannies and put women in chargs and lost the basic competency to make games (compare the development cycle and end result of fallout new vegas with starfield), but historically speaking there is nothing special about the run they've been on. You are acting like they are prime Konami or Capcom or Nintendo, but they are nothing close.

"Middling visuals" wtf does this even mean? Are we just counting polygons? It's a matter of taste, but SOTE is the most beautiful game visually that I have ever played. The music and combat are also incredible. As a whole their games are indubitably 180--I appreciate them as works of art. I have played their last 4 games at release with no memorable performance/jank issues.

What games by these other jap publishers are you holding-up as better than ER? Sekiro alone is better than RE4, and you're lost in nostalgic haze to say otherwise.

Like TSMC they would resist scaling-up, and be incapable of producing the same quality if they did--especially if it was staffed-in America. Regardless, I'm confident that their FPS would still be better than CoD or whatever other dogshit they might have to "compete" against--even if Miyazaki has to lead a team of nigs. That is how bad AAA gaming is now, and analogous to TSMC building a ruinous fab in Arizona that will still be superior to Intel.
