but we're well beyond that now into proper third world stuff where, even though we have this beautiful and largely harmless if used in good faith pressure release valve called the internet to work these things out on, the social war's effects on peoples' lives and livelihoods are only accelerating and usually with *actual* centrists and moderates (not just token resistance or controlled opposition) being the first to be taken out or maimed or what have you
