Woah, Merz playing his "Richtliniencompetenz" card. That's the most powerful card a German chancellor can play and is supposed to be used very sparingly. It basically orders the other members of the coalition to get behind a decision that they likely don't agree with. The fact that Merz used that on his first day as chancellor shows he's going to be very strict on immigration. Nice.
