One example: Higher ed constitutes an economic sector well over $700 billion. Institutionally it is the only holding pen we have (apart from the military) for 18-22yos, and serves as our only sorting mechanism for professional careers, and our only national credentialing machine.

It is about to be collapsed. At some point in the last 100 years, more probably the last 50 years, its methods became entirely disaligned from its goals. All of the student work is meaningless. None of the instruction is relevant. Fewer and fewer of the adult employees are instructors, and even those instructors are useless - even the good ones, which are probably fewer than 10%. Its all basically kabuki theater, where 18-22yos have to do certain dances and wear certain costumes, and then receive a paper credential for their efforts. But none of their work, none of whatever they do learn, prepares them in any way for professional work. They are sorted prior to their entrance applications, by phenotype, by parental wealth, by standardized testing, by race and religion. The "college" experience is total fraud.

With each month, this fraud will be revealed further as absolutely every student, and most instructors, will use AI to do the work, to do the kabuki theater. Instructors will allow AI to lecture and create assignments. Students will allow AI to complete all the assignments, which will then be graded by AI.

None of the humans really need to be on campus.

Such an archaic, artificial institution will not stand. There is tremendous social momentum to keep sending students, to keep paying tuition, but first slowly and then quickly people will start defecting and it will collapse entirely.

We will have no "credentialing machine" that aligns with democratic values. It will be plain that rich kids are just given rich jobs, handsomes are given pussy, 85% of the rest are just fucked. Smart, outlying individuals will have no access to improve society or become engineers or anything. We will calcify and see no good in our national myths.

This is just higher ed. AI will reveal the fraud in every other institution as well. Very few people's presence is needed anywhere, much less their pathetic "contributions" or thoughts or labor.

We will need a warehouse for them, and the military can at least extract some social benefit from them being alive, and may even ensure that some of them do not get obese, learn some skills, perhaps kill some chinks.

It can also hope to keep alive our national myths about democracy and equality, etc., by making rich kids scrub the same toilets as poors.
