Last night
Mom: Did u get ur packet?
Me (immediate response): Yes
Now
Mom: Wow! Don't act so warm and fuzzy. I love you [name] but you sure make it hard to like you.

There are two "normal" paths:
1. What you describe
2. Moms who assume that anything that comes into their head is useful / helpful / worth attention because it came into their fucking head and involved a life that they excreted from their birth canal
I've long assumed that #2 is the more common of the "normal" paths. But maybe that's just bias towards my life experience

Responding with a flat "yes" signals coldness. When someone ks sending you one word text responses that means they don't want to talk to you. And Consuela reaction and attitude towards his Mom proves it in this instance too.
This whole thing makes me a bit sad. A Mom sending her son things and then reaching out and then even trying to pry something, anything out of him. A guy who admits he's lonely and seeking human interaction pushing his own Mom away. Just a bummer all around.
