the dean had a choice -- betting lives, even on really great odds, when there's minimal cost to him to refuse to bet, is an easy choice.

The response at Hastings is easy to predict. They're going to call the FBI and either lockdown the school or heighten security. They won't care how credible the threat is. The name of the game is CYA. |
