Now if that is in the complaint (I haven't read it yet) won't they have to prove causation there which means getting the hiring committees from all those firms on the stand to show that it was a "But For" cause or substantial factor? This is assuming they get past all the other hurdles in this case. Seems like there are a number of defenses that are glaringly obvious that the professors are missing.
I have a feeling this is going to turn out just like the Pentagon recruiting case. Every law professor thinks this has merit, but even the most liberal judges in real world law laugh them out of court.

I think the purpose behind this lawsuit is to nail every one of these guys to the wall by publicly exposing their identities in connection with their posts concerning these two women. Forget about employers - do you think any of these guys will date again after this becomes public? They all contributed to making the lives of these women extremely uncomfortable and this seems like perfect retribution. |

Everyone of the posters, except one, did not intentionally broadcast (or "google-bomb", as you like to call it) anything to the public. Xoxohth can feel like you're in private just having fun with friends, and it's easy to forget that you're actually in public and that what you are saying is being stored.
All I'm saying is that none of the guys said anything that you won't hear from a of regular guys if you spend some time with them, including rape threats and STD allegations. |
