Nearly all were from the north tower, which was hit first and collapsed last. Fewer than a dozen were from the south tower.

As I was evacuating I saw and heard their bodies hitting the ground. At the time, I was actually pretty angry that they were putting my life at risk so that they didn't have to die in a fire. As for the jumpers, I think we all saw them. There were dozens and dozens of these people hitting the ground. As I was getting the hell out of there, I heard a woman behind me scream "Oh my God, they hit someone!" I didn't have time to confirm it, but I suspect she was talking about a jumper hitting someone on the ground. What an unbelievably gruesome, tragic day that was. I try not to think about it much anymore.
