Family Guy is basically the same format but is much more farcical and designed for joke after joke after joke. They are two peas from the same same plant, but not the same pod, and thus shouldn't really be compared to one another. As others have said, it was the golden era of the Simpsons (Seasons 1 through about 9 or 10) that literally birthed Family Guy as a concept. |
