My biggest flaw? I’m 5’9. So as fundamentally good as I was and how hard I worked (would do tee work on my driveway until my nuts were swollen from the cold…my GF in HS used to have to watch American idol with my mom waiting for me to finish my workouts before we went to parties) all went for nothing. My first cousin is 6’3 and went to the show for 10 years total (3 full seasons).

I bred with a woman who is 5’7 and her dad is 6’5 and her mom is 5’8 so praying they get Tall genes.

The point is your PHYSICAL is all that matters. Create the ATHLETE first. I’m investing all my time (and prayers) ensuring my kids are as big and tall as possible. I have 5, 1 girl, 4 boys, and the goal is CREATE THE ATHLETE FIRST then all the rest of the time is creating the baseball player. I was YOKED as a HS kid and college dude. I wish my CORE was stronger though. It wouldn’t have made a difference at 5’9 to these scouts but it’s worth a lot more on the field than taking 30 extra swings off the tee to perfect your “swing.”

5’9 excellent player…scouts: meh who cares at all higher level he can’t compete

6’4 clumsy beast…scouts: we can mold this guy.
