"I knew too many people like him at my law school -- wants to be in politics and is crafting his own personal story so it's just so. He's "moving to Ohio" i.e. to DC while his wife clerks for SCOTUS and he can pop back there from time to time before she finishes clerking and joins Jones Day in Cleveland or Columbus. He may be a nice guy and all but I don't find his stuff very compelling."
"because he is pushing a disingenuous, globcap-friendly just-so-story about rural white poverty that glosses over the role of the rat-faced man, of social decohesion and its relation to boomers/the '65 immigration act/etc., and of anything that threatens to so much as give corporate interests a wary eye.
he's clearly ingratiating himself with the power structures using "his people" as props to do so.
why the fuck should we think anything good about that?"
This kind of thing isn't the real story because there are no pols "naming the Jew" or anything like that. There is a special vitriol directed toward JD Vance despite the fact that we should actually be pretty happy that he's an XO Poster success story.
what about in 2019 when he decided his religious background (church of meth and oxy) wasn't sufficient. he googled "what religion to elect fastly?" and came up with catholicism

he fumbled the natty trophy when tOSU came to visit. given that is an unforgivable sin forever branding him with the mark of the NERD, i don't have time for this fatty boom boom batty boy
Real talk: XO and XOers are defined by self-hatred. "Oh no, I went to law school. If I were tall and athletic I could have been a baseball player and cool!" JD Vance is very XO yet made it all the way to VP and is a major contender to be POTUS. This, of course, infuriates XOers who want to believe that their misery isn't their fault, it was a "bad hand" dealt to them.
