ever since i turned 30 five years ago, virtually every time someone asks my age and i tell them, their reaction is, "omg really? i thought you were 25!" and my takeaway IS NOT that i look 25, it's that people have a weird compulsion to tell 30+ women that they look younger than their age to be nice. i know when someone asks me to guess their age i subtract 3-5 to be safe and i assume people do even more dramatic reductions when they VOLUNTEER a number. |
