the quality of the binding, cover, is very high, i'm very pleased (although i'm increasing the image sharpness of the cover), and the book has a surprising actual weight to it - it feels hefty. i'm catching a huge number of corrections on first pass, which i didn't see digitally - its interesting how different words and phrases flow when one has an actual book copy in hand
I don’t understand the question. He said it was AI slop, and I responded by showing a page with extensive handwritten comments. Would you care to rephrase?
if only i could be like you, writing and then deleting a substack crucified between homosexuality and catholicism, barely bandaided together with snark
I don’t put much stock in prestige, it requires far too many intellectual and moral compromises . I would rather follow arguments even if they breach societal red lines. Enjoy

Only if you are in a field that talks about "socially controversial subjects". If you are publishing in analytic metaphysics what kind of intellectual compromise could you possibly have to make? If you come up with a novel position about "worldmatehood" or "mereology" or whatever that isn't just a structurally equivalent restatement of one of the positions that already exists, you really think people are going to cry and try to have it suppressed? It's hilariously abstract and low-stakes regarding feels, and almost noone can come up with a novel result, so if you do people will accept you.
MiG clearly feels competitive with me here, so I assume whatever he is doing has some degree of overlap. If he was posting in an unrelated field I don’t think he would have responded like this
I feel bad for the poor guy, you can tell he is not mentally well

LMAO at prestige we're talking about bare minimum for demonstrating any semblance of creative thinking or relevance. Paying someone to print out a .docx you made on your computer in complete isolation and blaming "intellectual and moral compromise" is the saddest fucking cope of all time. LMFAO
1. It’s not print and bound as a final result yet :)
2. There is a chance that I may be published by someone I know and respect with a very small publication arm. The benefit of this is it could be sold on Amazon, because I don’t really want my irl associated through an ISBN (which is required). We’ll see what unfolds.
No. I have to be able to follow my thoughts wherever they lead, and I really don’t want to assess reputational risk as a factor for consideration. This is the same reason why I don’t discuss my work with friends or family. If I was outed (which would be unpleasant) I would end up writing under a new pseudonym without telling any of you bozos

"Lol at this slop..."
"Yeah well you just create and delete substack"
"Actually I'm published."
"Yeah well that requires compromises that I won't..."
LOL at this instant Counsela flip-flop. First he tries to pwn on lack of prestige but in the very next poast it's sour grapes about how he doesn't even want prestige because ackshually...
This is Consuela’s new book. What do you think it will be about and how many copies will it sell? Do you think Consuela is wise to self-publish a book like this?
What it's about: almost certainly his "Abraxian framework" as a system. The title is the phrase that runs through everything he's posted, so expect the Jung-to-Abraxas argument (God as totality containing good and evil, privatio boni as the West's great evasion), finitude as the fall with no original sin, the heleq-and-oscillation reading of Ecclesiastes and Job, and James, Kierkegaard, Weil, and Berdyaev set up as forerunners. The ouroboros fits: it's the classic alchemical symbol of totality, the opposites joined in one circle. It's also a snake eating itself, which his critics will enjoy.
Sales: most self-published nonfiction sells fewer than a couple hundred copies over its lifetime, and dense esoteric theology under a pseudonym with no platform beyond a small Substack and forum following sits at the low end of that. A realistic guess is dozens to low hundreds of copies, mostly to people who already read him. The ceiling is a cult-classic slow burn if one bigger account in the Jungian or esoteric-Substack world picks it up, but that's a long shot, and he's said himself he isn't counting on it.
Is self-publishing wise? For this book, yes. No mainstream or academic press takes a pseudonymous, uncredentialed Jungian theology, and the small presses that might would want changes he likely wouldn't make. Self-publishing gets him a finished, physical object, and the cover is clean and competent. That makes the work real to its few readers and gives him something to build on. The real risk isn't the format but the association. If "Hermes of the Threshold" and the author of the forum posts are ever publicly linked, the antisemitism will define how this book is read, whatever its merits. A serious Ecclesiastes reader deserves a fair hearing, and that link is the one thing that would make sure he never gets one.
That’s a fair read overall, except for the antisemitism comment. The guardrails by LLMs on this topic are extreme; mention the Rothschilds once and the LLM will spend 70% of its energy bashing you about it. I emphasize in my writing that regular Jews are victims of the same dialectical control processes as other people are.

LMAO studying the topic seriously, actually reading the books, submitting abstracts to conferences, respecting the (limited, charlatan) people actually doing work on the topic -- all these are "outside my hands" lmfao
Uh, no it's not. If you want to get people to buy it you will have to do something to make that happen. It's 100% in your hands and if you do nothing obviously no one will buy it.

he's the victim of his own life. you dont understand. everything he accuses other people of doing, everything in his "book," is just a statement of his own self-hatred with the subject swapped because he can't "contain" the reality. He COMMANDS others to "contain opposites" because he's utterly incapable of doing it himself.
I’m not advocating passivity on my part, of course, and don’t expect to do nothing, but whether something catches on or not is largely outside of one’s hands despite the amount of effort put in, I think.
