In my current job the best I can do is leave exactly when my shift is up so I don't actually work extra hours for free. In day time job I can try to take a 1hr lunch break during the day to decrease the freebies. "Overtime" is just getting a 2nd job for another hospital and and the primary employers hate that because then they don't get free overtime.
