not interested in feuds, we our all brothers, but I am interested to think about ambition
older i get, the more audacious a thing ambition seems. every one my age has been beaten down so thoroughly, and it seems everyone now locates ambition in family, the attainment of stability, etc. Not world-changing.
those personalities who maintain actual "ambition" into their 30s and 40s really are psychotic, in the best way. Steve Jobses and Michael Jordans and the like, and the many men much smaller than these two.
To wake up as a 38 year old or 46 year old and STRIVE all day to make some enormous splash in the world... it is such a rarer trait than I imagined as a teenager

i don't think “beaten down by the world” is a good way to put it. it's more about understanding what's really important to you in life. for most people that winds up being living a good life, not striving to be the center of major events and change.
when you're young and naive you want to take on the world and prove your worth. that drive and ambition is necessary. but once you've achieved a modicum of success and comfort, the question shifts to “how much is enough?” and “what is it all for?”
artists, inventors, athletes, etc the continue striving make sense to me because their work is their passion. but someone like a stock trader that goes in every day producing nothing to extract more wealth seems psycopathic. is finding arbitrage opportunities really your raison d'etre?

obv benzo. RSF has rich-kid accomplishments like slaying lots of hot girls, traveling to lots of cool places, and eating at lots of fancy restaurants. benzo has accomplished literally nothing
