MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A contractor has filed two liens claiming that SpaceXAI owes more than $130 million for unpaid work done on its Memphis facilities.
Shelby County records show that Ohio-based company Darana Hybrid, Inc., filed two liens Friday, July 31. The liens reference Colossus I at 3231 Paul R. Lowery Road and Colossus II at 5420 Tulane Road.
Darana Hybrid claims it performed work at Colossus I from March 10, 2024, to June 23, 2026, and at Colossus II from February 27, 2025, to June 23, 2026. The company argues that it is owed $18,646,622.43 for the work at Colossus I and $118,246,160.35 for the Colossus II work.
The liens allege a total of $136,892,782.78 in unpaid work.
ABC24 has reached out to Darana Hybrid and SpaceXAI for comment.
The filings come days after SpaceXAI founder Elon Musk confirmed plans for a new data center in the Whitehaven neighborhood. Musk stated that the new "Minihard" facility is being constructed next to Colossus II on Tulane Road.
