Cousins is a very, very adequate NFL QB. (Cf. the recent thread about settling for an adequate husband.) He can (or could, a couple years ago) competently run an NFL offense. Being able to do that for 10+ years these days gets you past Elway on the all-time stats lists.
It's the same thing on the all-time yardage leaders list. The top 5 are suitable legends. Brady, Brees, Manning, Favre, Rodgers. After that, it's a lot of solid but not spectacular contemporary/near contemporary QBs--Stafford, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Ryan--who are ahead of HOFers like Marino, Elway, Montana (way ahead of Montana). |
