I now work 7on/14off overnight 10hrs, some weeks start in the afternoon i.e. 4pm or 6pm. New job would be 7on/21off 12am-8am. It would pay a bit more per hour and a bit less per shift and hence make less per year. But I could actually make more per shift because I can moonlight elsewhere at 5pm-9pm at good rates.
The other possibility is I could do extra weeks. I.e. do 14nights on/14off occasionally and make extra $. So I have 13 blocks where I take either 14day or 21day vacation, I decide. I also can do day work elsewhere but it pays less per hour.
Alternative is just switch to a mo-fr 8am-5pm 38wks per year. That pays the same as my 7on/14off. But I can combine it with 5pm-9pm moonligting.

CR.
In that case, definitely don't risk it.
But in 10 years...
