There seems to be a bell curve with AI. Like 120 IQ midwits love it. Dumb retard Redditors hate it and it’s “slop” and they “don’t use it.” Actual Nerds don’t even use it either ime.

There’s a pretty hard stop after that. Not practical at all for moderately complex coding and design tasks. Not reliable for accurate research. It can be precise, but not reliably accurate.

it's better for finding stuff than google's general search engine

it's good for editing writing or helping to express something short

it's image creations are quite good

AI will reach a plateau that will never match the hype due to fundamental limitations in its underlying computational methods. i've been saying this ever since i was a principal engineer at an AI company in 2017 and have avoided AI companies since then

Yeah the math isn’t mathing with the guy above. Tech has never jumped on some fad in an attempt to get rich quickly by over promising and under delivering.

there weren't that many true AI companies in 2017. this was pre-hype/pre-bubble, several years before ChatGPT blew up. not going to go into too much detail, but this company invested over $1B in AI R&D, so it was not some tiny random AI startup.
