It will be noon local time when you are dropped off.

You can choose what month you're dropped off in. If you pick January, you can bring any 70 liter bag REI sells. If you pick April you get a 40L bag. July, a 20L bag. (You can pick another month, but you get No Bag.)

You can put anything you want in your bag to bring with you, but: (a) Everything you bring must fit in the bag with the bag closed; (b) you cannot bring electronic communications or navigation devices, other than a simple 3G flip phone on Verizon (and a single 10,000 mAh portable recharger).

In addition, if you pick January, you get snowshoes, a rifle, and you'll be able to post one message on XO after you arrive.

If you pick April, you'll be able to have 1 jar of chunky peanut butter appear on demand each day.

If you pick July, a cache of rifles and lentils will be placed one mile from where you are dropped, though you won't know where exactly.

For any month, you can wear what you're wearing now plus a pair of nice hiking boots.
