so not actually a plot hole

it's a cheesy SNL spinoff featuring Mike Myers and Dana Carvey playing ridiculous caricatures while wearing retarded wigs. Somehow it managed to be a movie with an actual interesting plot and story arc and manages to break the fourth wall without it being retarded.

It has tons of funny as fuck lines and sexual innuendos that still work today. The Office ripped off their that's what she said line they use throughout the series from that movie.

Also 180 casting. Tia Carrere is sexy as holy fuck and sings all the Crucial Taunt songs herself. Rob Lowe plays a 180 good looking heel.

actual plot hole is Rob Lowe would have his studio's jewbag lawyers sue the shit out of Wayne for putting the show back on the air even if it only went to Mr. Big. Cassandra would have prob had to pay off a huge chunk of her studio deal $$$ to settle.

show gets picked up by a major TV network because Rob Lowe knows they're morons who will sign anything and knows he can sell ad space to boomer moron arcade kingpin. same time also signs Tia Carrere to a music deal because he wants to fuck her.

plot hole is Wayne doesn't sell out like he's Jimmy Kimmel and Carrere doesn't fuck Rob Lowe.

There’s a lot of stuff in this film that people hadn’t seen before. The bit with Alice Cooper explaining the Native American history of Milwaukee for instance. That type of absurdity would be considered corny now but at the time it was mind-blowing. Late 80s/early 90s schlock films did not break the 4th wall in creative ways like that.

Mike Myers was a very talented guy who did a lot of interesting, funny stuff. Even his lesser sketches like Sprockets were funny.
