The sun was setting, bathing the room in a golden hue that made it seem like anything was possible. As he watched his Manic Pixie Gf transcend into her own dreamy world with a finger to his lips and Belle & Sebastian in the background, he felt like nothing could touch them.

He had grown up surrounded in a world of pop culture and 90s music. Every summer was spent at something called 'Mokonzi' with all his mates from school, and every night of the week was a new adventure as they roamed the streets, trying to break free from anything that held them back.

He had felt invincible for so long and yet here he was, feeling like all his dreams were slipping away before he had ever lived them. He looked up into her saucer-wide eyes, and saw all the promise of a life he could have had, but hadn't realized.

And just as he thought what it could have been, the music flooding the room surged and vibrated. A life force activating his senses, reminding him of a world that was great and beautiful but he did not know it until now.

It could not last forever, but he vowed to never forget.
