What's more, $10m is basically 0.01% of Gates' net worth. And when you consider that he has spent multiples of this sum on absolutely insane and ridiculous "charitable" endeavors (like drinking water funneled through shit), it's hard to not resent him if you're his kid. |

Because you then understand that being broke isn't necessarily the end of the world and you can deal with it. So if you swing for a home run and end up with nothing, at least you tried. Whereas if you have $10m at the outset, you are likely to be way too comfortable. That can easily convert to $400k a year and all the sudden you're wrapped up in stupid UMC status games like a fag.
I would venture a guess that more truly wealthy people came from nothing vs. came from multi-millions.
My actual thought with Gates is he should've just committed to passing on the majority of his wealth to his family.
