These people have to be literally retarded, right? And that survey with only 12 percent using it regularly seems low. Bet it’s increased since that was taken. Seems like half the threads on AutoAdmit are about AI now.

i've use chatgpt to redraft certain filings/emails...and it's 180

i just cobble together some garbage (but with the facts and arguments in there) and it spits it out in a more fluid fashion

I don't see anything wrong with that. It's more efficient. I guess maybe writing skills deteriorating? But lol the Internet

my writing skills have 100% gone down the drain since biglaw and the 1 billion hours we spent redrafting the same fucking shit over and over again

but i don't really care. as long as the arguments and facts are there, i welcome AI

It’s nice for in-house work because it’s not like you’re citing anything. Just throw outside counsel work product into ChatGPT and ask it to review and give you summaries and a business facing email. Or if you get a business question on some random area of law you can just yolo and be like “sounds right” and give quick advice, not like you’re putting specific citation in an email to cfo

It just goes to show how overstressed and worked most lawyers are. Surely everyone is aware of the chance of wrong info and they’re still like meh fuck it, let’s roll the dice
