I think it’s telling that even at expensive famous BBQ restaurants in ARE country you can still get a big old plate. But in NYC the genuinely good deli/tourist trap is going to hit you up for double that.

i make it a couple times a year. pulled pork or brisket. but you need multiple people coming over or something for it to be worthwhile. its as easy to cook it for 20 people as it is for two. and im not gonna make all the sides. i like just asking for four different sides at one of those places.
