Codex/Work is clearly better than Claude code now too by a mile and codex is just better with agentic workflows. Fable is great for one shot high stakes questions, but even gpt 5.5 was beating fable on agent workflows before gpt 5.6 came out. Codex Sol ultra is an absolute beast and will give spawn multiple subagents and give you a much better answer to something complex, even compared to Claude fable on Max reasoning with an unlimited token allocation.
