This is just wrong. Games are always better when they are written from the ground up or built on highly specialized but fine-tuned in-house engines. You can just feel it when you play a Nintendo game, or a Fox Engine game, or some indie dev’s project like that Nerd who made Braid and The Witness. On PC, you have the GPUs that can brute force Unreal 5 to an impressive result. But the landmark console games that really blew everyone's mind, like say Metal Gear Solid 2, were always on their own engines.
