This doesn't bother me in and of itself. I think school admissions should generally be as merit-based as possible. But it reveals that when libs talk about "underrepresented" minorities, representation is really not the issue. No group is more underrepresented than non-jewish whites (60% of the population vs. 18% of Harvard UG, 15% of Columbia UG, etc.) -- but elite libs don't give a shit about that.

What libs do care about is tailoring student bodies to fit what they like. They like kids from a specific coastal elite milieu (which happens to be disproportionately Jewish) and they like enough visible minorities to create the cosmetic appearance of diversity and make themselves feel good. They don't like the idea of their schools being flooded with smart asian fobs and they, above all, fucking hate average working class white stiffs.
