thought leaders will lead you into the weeds and start splitting hairs between Finns and Swedes or something - call you crazy for inventing difference, but one casual glance at Australian aborigines and white Australians puts to rest forever any notion that racial groups are not vastly different
this seems like most basic and utilitarian human knowledge and we completed abandoned it for a very weird and useless religious notion of blank-slatism. To what end? |

You are forced to talk about diversity all the time--to accept The Other. Tacitus saw this coming. Caesar warned us. Not about any one group—no—but about the metastasis of Meaning Management. About the rot that sets in when empire forgets how to say “no” to trinkets of the spirit.
First came the imported policies. Then the templated scripts. Then the monthly “difference audits,” which Tabitha from Corporate insists we conduct using scented markers and “feedback cloaks” sewn by local youth.
In our age, the new altars are SharePoint folders. The new Vestal Virgins are Credentialed Men of Soft Voice™ who facilitate empathy circles while hoarding billable hours.
It is all extremely equitable.
And extremely over.
