embellishing your identity is common af and especially when you are playing the striver game.
obama was only able to get into Oxy and there he didn't do particularly well. but he realized that he needed to strive. being foreign born and foreign raised was a massive identity asset. it's how the game was played and still is played.
the most direct evidence we have is that book blurb which is admittedly not Obama's own speech but it's circumstantial evidence that he was "passing off."
they say, "when you see hoof prints in Texas think horses not zebras." using that reasoning, the odds that Obama passed himself off while on his upward striver climb are basically 100%. |
