For us it never manifested in any negative behavior towards her sister but it wore on my wife’s patience and it’s never any fun to feel rejected by your kid. As with most things half the battle is staying on the same page with your wife and just accepting the kid preferred her attention until they grow out of it. The second one isn’t quite as bad because I think you’re generally less neurotic about everything so the newborn stage is overall less stressful. The first year sucked, but then it generally gets better. I think it’s a lot harder on the dad because you basically need to be a lot more Involved with everything while mom is taking care of the baby. |
