nobody believes that the church 'opposes the death penalty' as a general matter. the same church that burned alive joan of arc? the VERY SAME church that gleefully slaughtered the albigensians? bullshit. the church has supported and used the death penalty for a much longer period of time in its history than it has been 'opposed.'
so then, how can today's catholics whine so abrasively about 'the death penalty' when evil criminals face execution, despite they themselves having executed so many people in the past? there are really only two realistic options:
1. the church erred in executing people in the past, which means that we have no reason to trust or take seriously the church today, since it could be 'in error' on a bunch of other stuff, or
2. the catholic church was correct in its previous use of the death penalty, but morals change over time, which means there is no reason to take the church seriously today on ethical matters, since it has no fixed moral values.
in reality, catholics in the 1800's (when the church's death penalty 'opposition' mostly began) became modish cultural strivers who adopted fashionable secular ideologies such as social liberalism and death penalty abolition. we all know this. that's why it feels to fake and insincere.
catholics, when you see violent criminals facing execution today, you need to shut the fuck up and quit whining. that's my counsel to you. and you know i'm right. stop trying to prevent the demise of evil people.

catholics are currently whining about and protesting the impending execution of a guy who burned a woman alive during a random home invasion robbery. his guilt is not in doubt. there is no honest reason to oppose his death other than support for crime and an opposition to evil being purged from the world (with some anti-white undertones along the way). stand down and shut the fuck up on cases like these.
