IMO AFAIK, it will take Putin dying from Alzheimers Brain Cancer any day now (right after Russia finally runs out of ammo and then explodes into a brutal civil war following a contentious palace coup) while Russian forces are summarily run out of Ukrainian territory by the superior and 100% volunteer Ukranian army.
At least, this is what a bunch of really really smart Ukrainemos have been assuring me for the last few years. |

If you’re anti-Russian, like me, this whole debacle has been extraordinarily positive. A resurgent NATO, lots of dead Russians, long term harm to Russia’s economy, and Russia pivoting entirely to a war-based economy in a way that will dramatically extend their economic malaise.
I hope this war goes on another decade. The fewer ethnic Russians, the better :-) |

Germany’s doing some really strong work in drones and munitions manufacturing capacity, and Poland has become a very strong ally. Trump’s destabilization of the world has also encouraged an increase in spending pan-Europe which is paying dividends already. Russia can barely move a few miles in Ukraine and NATO has so far suffered zero casualties. Putin himself has admitted Russia is no match for the West, albeit indirectly.
China is likely ecstatic about Donald’s blundering but unlikely this degree of instability from Russia’s failed invasion was desirable from Xi’s perspective.
The West will prevail. MAGA will do everything they can to stop it, but they will fail. |

If trump backed the current senate sanctions bill and signed it and pushed another military aid package through congress Russia would rush to finalize a more favorable deal for UKR. But he won’t because he doesn’t want to be aggressive with Putin. |
