The only time you see Arabs (mostly Saudis) around is in August when they come for European holidays and to check on their money. They bring their multiple burqua'd up wives and don't stay long. They don't live there. The country is 5% Muslim and it's pretty well spread out around the country. 90% of the muslims are not Arabs, they are "white" slavs from the balkans. You see some Africans around Geneva due to the UN presence, but they are not common in Zurich at all.
There ARE a lot of annoying Indian tourists, particularly around Jungfrau and Zermatt. And to a lesser extent, there are Chinese tourists. But again, they don't live there and it's extremely difficult to get Swiss citizenship if your parents aren't Swiss. |
