I’ve been doing this for the past 3 years or so and somehow I’m still employed. AND it’s tech ffs. It’s weird being a hyper-competent Philosopher-Engineer with an unassailable phenotype.

People don’t want you to notice this but this is the reality that gives you a competitive edge. I always wondered if it was “worth it” to bust my ass on my driveway into my 20’s hitting 200 balls off the tee into a net to be a rinky dink college player. I learned a lot of life through my failures in baseball that helped me “scam” life.

When I played baseball I would train non stop but then when I got to the plate I would have trouble turning my brain off and just letting my training do the work. It caused me to overthink. Then you look at someone like Manny Ramirez who trained like an animal but when he got to the plate he looked like some retard who said “oh bat wow” picked it up and hit a home run. It because he trained hard and when he got to the plate, his muscle memory and training took over.

I started doing shit like this at work. At first you think oh wow I need to work hard, wow I’m running late I don’t have time to get to the gym first. Now I make sure I go to the gym and I get there when I get there, confidence from being jacked at 40, dream of quitting. And somehow my performance is better than it was when I gave a shit.

I’ll tell you why. You’ve been training years and years going to school, learning your craft, and you’re a talented individual. Even you not “caring,” when you eventually do complete a task you’re so trained and competent that your brain takes over by pure muscle memory and produces an output better than most people simply by you being you.

So you don’t care and think you’re being lazy but you’re actually a better “player” in a sense because you’re loose and just letting you’re training take over.

it's more than that though. I don't show any respect for leadership, and I only attend calls when I feel like it. I barely even look at my email inbox and when I do if there's something addressed to me by some boomer management layer, I'm just like "what? you're retarded" and I don't respond.

My teams already know that I think e-mail is Satan's work and accordingly do not require that I look at my e-mail. I haven't checked my work e-mails in like 3 weeks.

Depending on the extent of your insubordination, that actually helps you. Your supervisors come to work and say “I want a nice smooth day where everyone just listens to me.” Assuming you’re decently competent, you’re throwing a wrench at them. They’re likely too beta to do anything about it and even if they did and had to go to someone higher to get you fired, that person is likely like “I just want a nice easy day, he seems competent, go talk to him or something and make this blow over! I don’t wanna do any paperwork.”

Then the whole thing is forgotten about because that supervisor just wants to hang out with his kids on the weekend on a nice Saturday. You won at life my friend.

I used to hate the idea of working for a F100 megacorp, but honestly, there's so much waste and abuse that I am effectively insulated against shitcanning until I'm not. But even that doesn't matter because I'm overemployed and can lose a job today and not be financially strained. Only problem is no unemployment for the overemployed. Also, ridiculous taxes because benzo needs his handouts.

I don’t disagree with you at all here. And I know we’re just shooting the shit on XO and knowing you for 15+ years I doubt you’re overthinking this on your day to day. But you have the right mindset in doing what you have to do to keep the paychecks flowing while you create your own plan to GTFO. Most people don’t think like this. There employed in the same matrix as the free loader because they feel like if they stop working at level 100 they’ll be fired. As unfair as it is that people get handouts, I’d have trouble sleeping at night if I knew there was a man with a yarmulke controlling the exact amount of money I get on a weekly basis so I don’t envy those people at all.

Yeah, I barely think about this during my day-to-day. It stung a little when I got laid off from J3 last October after working there for about three years, but it was more about the financial condition of this small, family-owned company. They simply couldn't afford me anymore and had to make a choice whether to can two people making 60k or me who was making $120k. It was my lowest-paid job and wound up taking the majority of my time because I actually gave a damn. I put in more than 40 hours/week at that company and never got a bonus, not once in three years. The owner doesn't do bonuses (my other two Js do 10-15% annual bonuses) and gives his kids as much PTO as they want (his daughter took 3 months for her wedding/honeymoon) while not giving his real employees any. It was like pulling teeth to use any of that time. That's when I realized this is just a fucking game and you've got to Play To Win unless you want to end up having the amount you get every week/month entirely depend on the generosity of a rat-faced kike.

I actually believe this, but I liken it to being on autopilot. When I'm programming, I'm 100% on autopilot/in the zone. It's almost meditative.

Job Interview Based Economics (JIBE) where there’s no ladder to climb, you’re just on a predefined Track or more likely a dead end, just incentivizes you to ngaf. Especially when combined with Random Layoffs. No way to Ascend unless you were a Jock like the new aapl CEO or Gay like Tim Apple.

But don’t TELL anyone this or poast about it bc they’ll just import 50,000,000k Indians or give your job to 20 black Women

thing is we're all risk averse strivers with a penchant for people pleasing, but if you work long enough you realize a ton of people, many of them idiots, get away with all kinds of ridiculous shit, so even if you dial it back 50% you're still way ahead of the crowd. if you're smart and reliable no one is going to fire you over your attitude, they just have to deal with it. ofc you're not going to get promoted but you're over that, obvs.
