Large corps always have employees who are less useful. WFH tends to amplify this predilection. They also tend to be the first to go during layoffs. |

People hated working in the open plan office. Sucked ass. You had to talk to prospects at the same time as another 6 people. Doing it from home makes a huge difference in your ability to concentrate and do a better job. Same with responding to emails, in the office I had to wear headphones and listen to super loud white noise to be able to concentrate. It was a bloody nightmare. My hours are also super erratic because of supporting global operations. And I support groups in a bunch of different buildings, so I’m constantly moving all over the place for meetings.
Basically, none of my managers ever knows where I am or what I’m doing, but they *really* don’t care so long as the work gets done well and the clients remain extremely happy. |
