I've used this as one of my test cases against AI. ChatGTP thinks that he is innocent to (because it was trained on Reddit) - even though even Reddit now understands he's guilty.

Also just asked it again very directly and here is what it said:
Yes. Based on the publicly known evidence, I think Adnan Syed probably killed Hae Min Lee.
The decisive point for me is not the prosecution’s exact minute-by-minute timeline, which appears shakier than it was presented at trial. It is the conjunction of facts:
Jay admitted helping conceal the body and knew where Hae’s unrecovered car was. He and Adnan were connected throughout the relevant day, with Jay possessing Adnan’s car and phone. Adnan reportedly sought a ride from Hae despite having driven to school. Jay’s central accusation has persisted despite substantial changes in peripheral details. And Adnan has never supplied a convincing explanation for why Jay possessed crime-specific knowledge and falsely implicated him.
The strongest innocent alternatives require either that Jay killed Hae and extraordinarily successfully framed Adnan, or that police secretly discovered the car, withheld it from processing, fed its location to Jay, and manufactured the central account. Both are possible in the strict logical sense, but neither fits the available evidence nearly as economically.

GPT:
Here the cumulative case is unusually strong:
Jay admits participating in the aftermath and identifies Adnan as the killer. He possesses crime-specific knowledge, especially the car’s location. The phone records broadly corroborate the movements and timing he describes. Jenn independently corroborates important parts of the evening. Adnan and Jay were demonstrably connected throughout the day, and Adnan’s explanations do not adequately account for why Jay could construct such a detailed accusation around real, independently verifiable facts.
Any one component can be attacked. Jay lies and changes details. Cell-site evidence is imprecise. Jenn’s knowledge partly comes through Jay. The prosecution’s exact timeline may be wrong. But those weaknesses do not dissolve the combined structure.
An innocent theory has to explain all of the following simultaneously: Jay’s knowledge, the car, the phone, Jenn, the shared movements, and the false accusation. At that point the alternative becomes less an evidentiary hypothesis than a chain of increasingly special assumptions.
So I would phrase it this way: the case may contain procedural problems, unreliable details, and an overconfident prosecution timeline, but the central question of factual guilt is not especially close. Reasonable skepticism about parts of the State’s presentation is not the same thing as reasonable doubt that Adnan killed Hae.

To me, serial is the moment that marks the point the media dropped even the pretense of nonbias and honesty. Koenig isn't some dumb true crime bitch, she's as accomplished journalist. When I pulled Adnan stuff after listening to the podcast I was blown away by how much was straight up omitted. And they stuff they did present was very misleading and always done in a way to reach the conclusion the presenters want.
Libs have never taken any responsibility for why Trump's "fake news" shit resonates with so many people. It's hard to resist the urge to kneejerk believe the opposite of whatever the news is saying.

The dumb cunt that hosted that fraud bullshit should be put in jail for what she did to the family of the victim. The shit was so misleading and omitted a ton of shit that was obviously incriminating. Not least of which was her neglecting to read the full diary entry of the victim in which she stated she was afraid of Adnan (and I think she may have said she was afraid he'd hurt her, specifically.)
But even with all of the misleading presentation bullshit and omission of facts, the fucking nigga (Jay?) knew where the chick was buried and had zero motive to kill her himself.
Again, the person who made that podcast should be put in prison.

This also made me think of that "Making a Murderer" shit on Netflix. The dude in that clearly murdered the woman. Meanwhile, the documentary just yadda yadda's the fact that the guy killed a cat by throwing it into a fire and ran someone off the road.
No no, it must've been some mystery killer no one ever saw!!

Making a Murderer is completely different because IIRC
(i) i don't think i was ever 100% sure he did it. it's way less clear than the Adnan case because there wasn't really any motive or connection here
(2) i was way more confident that the police did frame him
(3) the prosecutor was basically evil (i believe he rightfully got fired and maybe even disbarred) and also hilarious (six figure salary)
(4) seems pretty clear the retarded cousin got hosed
The documentary is successful because it shows how much the police and prosecution are willing to lie and commit fraud

Did you watch the show? I'm using ChatGTP to catch up but a lot of this is stupid:
--The car key was found after multiple searches of the same room. Seems reasonable to assume it was planted
-- He didn't have a motive other than the other allegation that he raped her
-- It took weeks for the detectives to decide the "burn pit' contained human fragments
-- The bullet also took MONTHS to discover and came up after they ahd searched it multiple times
So a reasonable person has to conclude that either (i) the cops are just really inept at missing all this evidence during their first multiple searches or (ii) they planted the evidence. Given their conduct with the retarded kid, I lean heavily towards (ii).
Not to say that Avery didn't do it, but I do think that 90% of the "evidence" you posted was planted by the police (and without question it was stuff they inexplicably missed their first searches).

The police literally had Avery's blood and they argued that the sample had puncture marks in it....
I guess the question I have for you is this - do you think that the police really missed the keys the first several times they searched the house, the bullet the first several times they searched the garage, and then they honestly found it months later searching again?
It's certainly possible, but I think its naive not to suspect that the police planted some of this.

Didn't Avery also call her out to his property for some reason? Like he requested her to come out or something to that effect and then she disappeared shortly thereafter.
Obviously people see that he was wrongly convicted in the past, but I always got the sense that the police actually knew MORE about this guy that they maybe couldn't outright prove and wanted him off the streets ASAP.
The funny thing is that there is effectively no way Avery would get any sympathy today off the simple fact that he's a white male. And I think way more people are onto the fact that The Innocence Project is fucking insane and regularly gets real criminals out on absurd technicalities.

Fucking lol. People can prattle on about "well what if the police planted some blood" but it's like, uhhh, who else killed her and why were her things burned in the barrel on his property? Why was there blood all over the garage floor ("but but forensics can't actually prove that! I saw CSI!")
All these theories for Avery and for Adnan rely on some One Armed Man being out there and just randomly killing a person at a time so inconvenient to those arrested for the crime that it beggars belief.
Hundreds of years ago a guy like Avery would've just been killed by someone with sense and that'd be that.
